No one could identify the ghost.
Liviu Oprya regrets that the object is far away, the image is fuzzy. It couldn't have been a plane, because none of the witnesses heard any noise, and the shape doesn't resemble a PUMA SOCAT military helicopter or an E35 Eurocopter.

Pe 17 iulie 2007 la orele 18:40, Liviu Oprea de 47 ani, fost ofiter de aviatie si controlor de trafic aerian militar, in prezent sef de tura la Obsevatorul seismic Muntele Rosu, a facut deasupra localitatii Cheia, cu un aparat digital FUJI A345 de 4,1M, o fotografie cu un peisaj montan, pe directia 270 (vest). Era de fata si fiica lui Renata Oprea.
Abia cand a descarcat imaginea pe calculator a observat un mic obiect in forma de palarie sau clopot foarte larg, cu un pompon deasupra, plutind deasupra muntilor. A luat legatura cu fostii colegi (organul de trafic ACC Bucureşti) si i-a intrebat daca la ora respectiva au avut aeronave in zona sau daca ei au observat ceva pe radare in zona mea; apoi a vorbit cu seful de tura de la COAP (comandamentul operational aerian principal) si l-a intrebat daca s-a raportat ceva deosebit in spatiul aerian al Romaniei. Nimeni nu a putut identifica aparitia.
Lui Liviu Oprea ii pare rau ca obiectul fiind departat, imaginea nu este clara. Nu putea fi un avion, deoarece nici unul dintre martori nu a auzit vreun zgomot iar forma nu seamana cu elicopterul militar PUMA SOCAT si nici cu eurocopterul E35.
