KOTOVA Tatyana Viktorovna (2nd year of physical education at the Karelian Pedagogical Institute) writes to the Commission on:

I am a second-year student at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Karelian Pedagogical Institute. Ten or eleven years ago I lived

in the village of Novaya Rechka, it is about 20 km from Chalna, forty minutes by train on a narrow-gauge railway. One summer afternoon we went to the forest for honey mushrooms - then the very first honey mushrooms were coming. We collected chi right behind the vegetable gardens. Flowers were also collected: daisies,

bells. And strawberries too. Valya Mayorova beat me, she graduated from pedagogical college last year, but I don't know where she is now.

We were on Gorushka. I suddenly saw three people far away on the horizon. Actually, they were probably about half a kilometer away, but they were so big that they seemed above the horizon. There were three of them, dressed in something bright, red. One, in the middle, is shorter, about the forearm height of the other two. One of them had a skirt, I think, but I don't remember who it was. All three of them were coming straight at us. Their bodies went straight into the sky. And with their hands forward, they make some incomprehensible gestures, as if they want to take you. Or, as it were, they walk through the water, raking it. The arms are half bent, but it seems that only the extreme ones. The average one is holding on to them or they were holding on to him. They walk smoothly, no one comes forward, right at me.

We ran back. Then I turned around after 20 meters or less - I wanted to make sure if they were chasing us - but they were already gone. We ran to the kitchen garden.

The distance to them was still not half a kilometer, but a hundred and fifty or two hundred meters... One of them had a basket or something like it in his hands; this hand was also in front. The upper body was tilted forward. They were twice or three times taller than the trees, but the trees were, in fact, small in that place (birch, aspen, fir trees). The legs were not visible up to the knee, the trees hid them. The sun was on the side of them, but I don't remember whether it was on the left or on the right. There was a river between us. On the other bank, first a cobblestone beat, then a strip of wild rose, then the forest began. There seemed to be nowhere to hide there. Their height was from 4 to 5 meters.

Did it feel like they were seeing us? I don't know. That they were coming at us was. I told my mom, "There were big people running at us," but they were actually walking, not running. There was no talk about it afterwards. I've been afraid of that place for about a week. And that day, as I ran in, I sat in place and went somewhere again.

I used to have this feeling: before falling asleep, it suddenly starts to feel like my head is several times bigger, my arms are getting heavier... It has already happened 5 or 6 times.

NOTE: Valentina Mayorova, now a primary school teacher in dos. Raikonoski of the Suoyarva district, studies in absentia at the Faculty of Natural Geography of the Pedagogical Institute. At the meeting, she said that she did not remember anything about the meeting with the giants. I assumed that Tanya was afraid of the huge boulders known to the whole village across the river, but then she remembered that the boulders were not in the place where, according to Tatiana's story, there were giants.

T.Kotova said that perhaps she was fighting with another Valya - Valentina Salkova, now a student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the same Pedagogical Institute (full-time, 4th year). At the meeting, Valentina Salkova said that she did not remember anything like that either. Perhaps there was Tatiana Bondar? At the second meeting, she said that she had talked with T. Bondar (lives in the village. Chalna) and she did not confirm the fact of the meeting.

Thus, T. Kotova is the only one who remembers meeting with unknown giants near the village of Novaya Rechka in 1968-69. The girls were about 7-11 years old that year.
