Initial data
"Science and Life" No. 11, 1980, "the legend of aliens", V.Gubarev. p. 63
Moscow. I happened to witness an unusual phenomenon. On the night of June 14-15, or rather 23-59, a luminous object the size of a pea appeared on the horizon in the sky. The object swept south, leaving a wide zigzag trail behind it. having reached a certain place, the object seemed to stop, and then abruptly went to the east. at the same time, the trace became visible in the form of two sickles emanating from the object. The sky was visible through the gap between the sickles. Then the trail ended, and the object continued its movement. The trace left by the object remained in the sky all night. The nature of the trail's illumination was natural, non-phosphorescent, which suggests that it was at a very high altitude and was illuminated by the sun hidden behind the horizon in the west. The described movement of the object was observed for about 2 minutes and, judging by the distance traveled, it occurred at a very high speed. This phenomenon was observed with me by 3 other persons, which must exclude the influence of subjective features on the results of observation.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
