Comet Swan (C/2020 F8) crossed the celestial equator heading North.
"It's time to pass the baton to observers in the Northern hemisphere," said Stephen James O Meara, who was watching the comet from Botswana since its discovery last month.
"In the morning comet appeared over the trees in our garden 10 minutes after the start of astronomical twilight. I observed the comet through binoculars 8 x 42 and he estimated its brightness at 6.0 with a tail is 1/2. I really hope that the comet will throw more dust as it approaches the Sun, and that Northern observers will have a beautiful spectacle."
This week observers in the southern part of the Northern hemisphere for the first time to see comet Swan, are very low in the East during morning twilight in the constellation Pisces. Currently, the Swan comet is barely visible to the naked eye. But a space traveller confidently sent to the Sun and will make a close pass of the hot star may 27, during which may again produce a bright flash.
