Huge adult humpback whale videotaped during a jump. Surprisingly, the whale completely jumped out of the water, just like a young playful Dolphin. The video was shot at the South-East coast of South Africa in early July.
An impressive sight captured on camera a diver Craig Kephart. Witness the graceful (given the weight of the whale) pirouette were three divers who were with him on the boat.
"It seems that no one had videotaped as an adult whale jumps completely out of the water! A very rare event, however," wrote Kephart in the video description on YouTube.
Humpback whales live in all oceans of the planet. The average body length of an adult humpback is 13-14 meters, weight 30 tons.
This species of whale known for its ability to sing, and vocals are addicted to mostly males. The mating song of a humpback lasts 6-35 minutes. Whales often solo, but sometimes join together in choruses.
Humpback whales prefer deep water. Swimming in the shallows may be death. Therefore, the new Yorkers were very surprised when last fall in the Hudson river swam a whale!
