On Monday evening, November 11, in the sky over the American city of St. Louis, Missouri, were seen a meteor, according to CBS. Hundreds of residents reported seeing a bright flash in at least two districts. A heard a loud rumble when a fireball swept through the sky at about 21:00 local time.
The height at which the object was observed, coincides with the height of a meteor shower Northern Taurida, known for its spectacular fireballs. Tauride are formed in the collision of meteors with the atmosphere when the Earth passes through the remnants of comet Encke. This happens in the last three months of the year.
According to the American meteor society, most of the messages had been received from Missouri, but also celestial object seen in Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Nevada, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. On the basis of these reports, the panel has calculated that the fireball was flying from East to West and ended its flight somewhere near Wellsville, Missouri.
Multiple cameras was shot with a ball of fire. The national weather service could not confirm, the meteor burned in the atmosphere or reach the ground.
