I work as an assistant locomotive driver. Locomotive depot Riga. And I am writing to you about an article published in the newspaper "Trud" on January 30, 1985, the article is called "Exactly at 4.10"

Oddly enough, but I also saw this object described in the article.

On September 7, 1984, my driver Kalugin Yuri Nikolaevich and I were driving the Shkirotava (Riga)-Pärnu train. The flight was normal.

somewhere around 2-3 o'clock in the morning we were driving along the Aloy-Ruien stretch. There is forest almost everywhere on this stretch.

We're driving, it's dark all around, only the beam of the locomotive's searchlight shines ahead. and suddenly my driver says to me, they say, look from your side at the top as a street lamp shines. but I didn't pay attention to this at first, you never know what can shine. But then I immediately thought, what is it shining if there is a forest around. This luminous dot hung motionless at a high altitude (I can't say for sure).

Then, about 5 minutes later, a thin beam appeared from this point, which fell to the ground, and began to look for something in the forest.

One might have thought that it was as if something was hanging above, and this thin and very bright ray was coming from there, as if it was looking for something in the forest.

After about 5 minutes, we almost stopped paying attention to this object. But this luminous ray seemed to accompany us, but not for long, about 15 minutes.

Then our path profile went slightly to the left, and it was as if we were almost opposite this beam. And my driver, take it and play with a diesel searchlight to this beam. That's where it started.

This beam began to expand, taking on a light cone shape. And it was as if this cone began to rise a little. The surface of this light cone began to ripple like a sea wave.

Then the light cone began to shimmer with all sorts of rainbow colors: yellow, green, red, blue.

And the glowing point itself from where this colored cone came from began to move upward with great speed. After a minute, all this disappeared, and a large blue luminous cloud remained in place of all this happening.

That's all we saw, me and my driver.

The blue luminous cloud had a shapeless appearance, and we observed it for another 30 minutes.
